As you can see by these results the scope of the Federal government is nationwide, and that is good news for job seekers who do not wish to relocated.  All across the country there are tens of thousands of Federal government jobs just waiting to be filled.

Another piece of good news is that these job opportunities are highly varied, covering every conceivable skill set and area of interest. From base entry level jobs to highly specialized and highly compensated professionals, the Federal government needs all kinds of workers.  With so many opportunities available there are job opportunities available for virtually every type of worker.

Where to Find Federal Job Listings
There are a number of databases, websites and other resources that list Federal government fobs, but the usajobsgov website is always a good place to start. This website is run by the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and it lists a wide variety of Federal job openings in many different states and many different areas of expertise.

Those who are interested in working for a particular Federal agency in their area can also visit the website of that agency. This is a good practice, since not every available Federal job will be listed at usajobsgov. By visiting the website of the agency applicants can also get a feel for what the agency is all about and the types of tasks its workers are responsible for completing. This knowledge will be very useful during the application and interview process as well.

Applicants may also be able to find information about government agencies, and government jobs, in the blue pages of their local telephone directory.. The blue pages provide a list of governmental entities, from Congressional offices to Federal government agencies, and they are a good resource for determining which Federal employers are active in the region.
